Issuing a card

Precondition:

• A Wirex Pay Chain account is created.
• The user entity is created, with KYC completed and the phone number is confirmed.

Step 1: Order a Card

When ordering a card on the Wirex Pay Chain, users have two options:

Virtual Card:

Issued Instantly: Virtual cards are issued immediately upon request without requiring additional steps for activation.
Usage: The virtual card is ready for transactions as soon as it is issued, making it a convenient option for users who need quick access to digital payment methods.

Plastic Card:

Delivery Details Required: When requesting a plastic card, it is necessary to specify a delivery address. Please note that delivery is only available to supported countries.
Activation: Once the card is delivered, it must be activated to confirm receipt and prevent misuse in case of theft during delivery. The activation process requires the last 4 digits of the card’s PAN (Primary Account Number) and the card’s expiration date. This additional step ensures that only the rightful cardholder can use the card after delivery.

Step 2: Activate Plastic Card (if applicable)

To activate a specific plastic card, an Activate cardAPI call must be made. This call verifies that the card has been received by the user and is now ready for use in transactions. Activation prevents unauthorized use of cards that may have been intercepted or stolen during delivery.
